“Mictlán” is a large-scale abstract painting inspired by psychedelic imagery, altered perception, and the sensation of entering an unfamiliar dimension.
Fluid layers of acrylic and enamel create an immersive atmosphere where vibrant yellows, deep greens, earthy tones, and subtle gold accents dissolve and intersect across the surface. Over them, an intricate network of organic lines expands like a fractal—suggesting cellular structures, natural systems, and forms in continuous transformation.
The composition moves between abstraction and recognition, creating a visual landscape that feels simultaneously organic and otherworldly. Its title, Mictlán, references the underworld of Mexica mythology, introducing the idea of crossing into another realm without defining a single interpretation of the work.
